Making Time for God

I was reading a new blog called Women of Faith. The most recent post talks about making time for God and it really got me thinking about the time I give to Him and it’s not nearly as much as it could be. I don’t ignore God, in fact I think about Him and talk to Him daily but it’s usually in passing. A little “Hi God, are you still there” sort of thing. Some days we’ll even sit and converse but it’s always hurried on my part. I want to set time aside every single day that’s just for us.

My husband and I were talking about our relationship with God and His part in our family and home a few months ago. Don said it’s like we invited Him in and then ignored Him. Since we had that talk we do make a conscious effort to include Him in family affairs and decisions. We consult with Him a lot more than we previously did but it’s not nearly as much as God would like.

As I’d said in earlier posts, God doesn’t barge into your life. He waits for you to invite Him in and he doesn’t stay where He’s not wanted. We do want Him in our life and our family. We want His guidance in our daily lives. God always has time for us why do we have to make time for Him and try to fit Him in?

Matthew 7:21-23 “Not everyone who says to me, “Lord, Lord,” will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me an that day, “Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?” Then I will tell them plainly, “I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!”

Revelations 3:20 “Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me.”

Nicely written. This is true and just what I needed to hear today.

There are just so many distractions all around us, we have to make our time with God a priority or it won't happen. Not as it should, unrushed and relaxed!

I praise God for this blog of yours...your posts are heart warming to read...I have been visiting a lot of christian blogs, but most of them are mere money making blogs with Christian articles pasted simply to Christian affiliate products...
please don't fall into the money making trap... and it would be great if you have some evangelistic articles too....will be visiting your blog often. :-)

Lovely blog! I'd love to have you join us at Christian Carders, a group for Christian Entrecard users. Please check out the details on my blog :).

You are absolutely correct, but thank God he is merciful I know he loves us and we should not take him for granted. I should do better myself and spend more personal time with him.

Aleisha....I feel blessed that God has used me to touch you today and provide the words you need to hear.

Karen & Gerard.......Thank you for stopping by. I agree. It seems as if God gets pushed to the end of the line when He really shoud be first.

Blogging Buddah.......I had made a decision when I started this blog that I would not jeparidze it's intregity by putting anything on her or linking to anything that I think God would not approve of. The links on the Blog Roll are blogs that I have visited and find enjoyable or uplifting. I joined Entrecard in order to help with ranking to hopefully get this blog up front for anyone searching and I will not approve an Entrecard ad that does not portray the type of message I'm trying to get out or written by someone with similar beliefs in Christ. I have another blog I am using to generate a small income but even with that I am selective on what I have on there. I feel if someone comes back to read what I wrote they should be able to trust me enough to lead them to like topics and nothing I find offensive.

If one person reads what's on these pages and it leads them closer to God this blog was worth it.

lovinglife.......Yes, isn't God awesome. He gives us so much more than we deserve.

Jennifer @ Quiverfull Family....I did check out your blog and bookmarked it as well as Christian Carders. I will be looking into it more this evening and signing up.

I love networking and interacting with fellow Christians.

Hey, Where is your entrecard widget? I liked your blog. God Bless!
